Club Player of the Month
This month’s Player of the Month is John "Buzz-Saw" McCullough.
This month’s Player of the Month is John "Buzz-Saw” McCullough.
“Buzz-Saw” covers the court extremely well.
He cuts off the angles with his speed.
He is still learning the crafty side of the game, but he has quickly become an accomplished player.
Keep going Buzz-Saw. Chop ‘em up!!
This month’s Player of the Month is "Lethal" Louise Jackson.
Louise has been a member of the club from day 1 and even though this year she has struggled with injuries (shoulder, hamstring), she continues to play good pickleball.
Her strengths are her fast hands at the kitchen line.
What a player and her nickname "lethal" is fitting for how she performs on court.
Next time you come up against her on court watch how quick she is.
Well done "Lethal" Louise... keep enjoying your pickleball.
This month’s Player of the Month is "Rolling" Renate Ayling.
Renate joined our club earlier this year and has a strong tennis background.
After just a few months of adjusting to the subtle differences between the 2 sports, Renate has developed into a good pickleball player.
She possesses great mobility and she is a fighter that never gives in.
Well done, Renate keep enjoying the game and improving.
This month’s Player of the Month is “Bubbly” Jill Bradfield.
Each week, Jill is improving her skills and they are continuing to improve the more she plays.
You don’t always have to look at the higher division level players to learn from. Jill's on court attitude and the enjoyment on her face is something we all could inspire to copy.
This month is also a special month for Jill as she has just turned 17 (Happy birthday Jill 13th September).
Jill, we hope to continue to see you on courts enjoying this great game of "Pickleball" for many, many more years to come.
We love your enthusiasm and tenacity.
This month’s Player of the Month is Geoff “Mr Pickleball” Arnell.
Geoff is the perfect club pickleball player.
He has the most important ingredient in being a great pickleball player and more importantly great club member.
He has “enthusiasm” which can be just as important as a great forehand, overhead smash or any other shot. Geoff is one of our more senior members, he is fit and eager to challenge all comers.
Great stuff Geoff, we love your enthusiasm.
You are an important club member.
Just on another note, Geoff is also the club treasurer. He sorts your money each week. So when you are paying next time, please think about Geoff balancing the books… 50+ $5 notes are much easier to count than a couple hundred coins!!
This month’s Player of the Month is Corinne "The Assassin" Harper.
Corinne quietly goes about her business on the court and just when you think you got her out of position, she whips one straight past you.
She has a great forehand that works exceptionally well for her. Being left-handed it comes from the “other side”, and she uses it to her advantage.
Keep going Corinne you are turning into a very complete pickleball player.
This month’s Player of the Month is Hiki "Hang-Ten" Raureti.
Hiki is one of our better female players with great all-round skills, she is difficult to play as she doesn't have any real weaknesses.
She is comfortable and efficient at the kitchen line which makes her a great doubles partner.
Well done Hiki, keep playing and improving and don't be hard on yourself when you make a mistake.... we all do it!!
This month’s Player of the Month is "Dancin" Dusty Marshall.
Dusty has been playing now for over a year and has steadily improved over that time.
He is hard to lob because of his great height, but equally hard to pass at the net due to his agility.
Watch out for Dusty on the courts as he is on the way up.
This month’s Player of the Month is Greg "Razor" Ryan.
Greg has sharpened his skills very quickly since he began and is advancing up the divisions.
He has developed a great understanding of the game and improving his dinking game.
Good work Greg and keep improving and enjoying the game.
Matt “The Mountain” Scullion is our player of the month for March.
Matt is highly skilled pickleball player and has developed his game to a high level. His great height and agile footwork make him a formidable and imposing opponent.
Try lobbing Matt when he is at the net, and you find out just how high you need to hit the ball to clear his outstretched arm and paddle. My calculation is around 10 feet!! Anything less results in an easy put away for someone of his skill
Keep improving Matt you’re a great pickleballer.
February 2022 Player of the Month - Greg "Hard to Crack" Almond
Greg has been with the club since the clubs early days and fair to say has taken a little while to find his feet with this new Pickleball game.
Due to Greg’s persistence and playing more Pickleball, he has now become a better all-round player, he moves on the court better, he understands the game strategy and has developed a wide range of shots, which has given him more confidence on court.
Great effort Greg. I admire your tenacity and look forward to playing with and against you.
December 2021 Player of the Month - Nathan "Gunslinger" Roberts
Nathan is one of our young guns whose game has really come on in the last month. He has taken a while to find his feet, and even though had plenty of skill right from day one, he was getting taken down by the better players tactically. But look out, the man with backward cap “the gunslinger” is in town.
He is now a better player tactically and looking for revenge in the New Year.
Nathan was also one of the best performing players at the recent interclub match.
Well done Nathan you are polite and a pleasure to play with and against.
November 2021 Player of the Month - ‘Kruisin’ Keith Eigeland.
After a cautious start to his Pickleball journey, Keith has developed into a quality player.
Keith does not have any big guns, he doesn’t have a flashy forehand, or a great 3rd shot drop. What he has is consistency, which allows him to play without errors.
So, be warned, if you come against Keith on the court you better be on your game because I can assure you he will. Well done Keith, keep improving you’re a good player.
October 2021 Player of the Month - Ethan "Octopus" Strawbridge
Ethan has become one of our club's best players, he gets to balls all over the court with his long arms.
He also leads the young brigade, move over you "older" players because here they come!!!
September 2021 Player of the Month - “Dinking” Don Murray
Don has improved his all-round game and has become a very consistent player.
Well done Don!
You’re proving to be a valuable partner on court.
August 2021 Player of the Month - "Bruising" Bailey Somerville
Bailey won a Gold and 2 Bronze medals at the Queensland Titles, which gave him the nod this month.
Bailey’s patience and shot selection has been where he has really improved.
Well done Bailey you are a pleasure to play with and against.
July 2021 Player of the month goes to Alain "Ace" Leclair.
Alain has been improving steadily since his nasty shoulder dislocation last year.
Alain you are showing true grit in returning to play, well done.
Our June 2021 Club Player of the month - “Magic” Michael Nardella
Michael has quickly learnt some very key strategies on the Pickleball court.
Michael’s on court communication makes him an excellent pickleball doubles partner.
May 2021 Player of the Month - goes to Brian "The Wall" Krisanski.
Brian has quickly found his feet with Pickleball and has become one of the club’s premier players.
Try passing Brian at the net next time you play him and you’ll find out why we have nicknamed him "The Wall".
April 2021 - Most improved player of the month is the "Sweet Swinging" Saule Burkitbayeva.
Saule has improved her game and has now developed the best 3rd shot drop going round and she is now in the top couple of players in the Club.
March 2021 - Player of the Month - Therese “Tornado” Almond.
Therese’s enthusiasm and her reduction in errors has improved her all-round game.
Well done Therese keep on improving.
January 2021 Player of the Month - Darren "Demolition" Flemingham.
Darren's level of play has improved dramatically and now he’s one of the club's top couple of players.
Well done and congratulations Darren, keep improving!
December 2020 - Most Improved Player of Month Fiona "The Assassin" Kavanagh
Well done Fiona, you were most impressive in winning Gold at the Qld Championships with Julie McGuire.
November 2020 - Most improved player of the month goes to Neill “Nailed It” Stromberg.
Neill’s all-round game and strategy has improved to make him one of the strongest players in the club.
Neill is also very approachable for anyone looking to improve their game.
Congratulations and well-done Neill!
October 2020 - Most improved player of the month goes to "Jumping" Janette Christie.
Janette has improved her all-round game, well done Janette, I’m impressed.

Congratulations Dixie!
