About Redlands Pickleball Club
Who Are We?
The Redlands Pickleball Club is a group of Pickleball enthusiasts who come together to play and promote the sport of Pickleball in the Redlands area. The club is affiliate with Pickleball Australia Association (PAA) and the Pickleball Association of Queensland (PAQ) and working hard to develop an effective structure to support the growth and development of Pickleball across the Redlands. We welcome players of all skill levels and ages to join us for friendly games, tournaments, and social events.
What Do We Do?
The Redlands Pickleball club is dedicated to promoting and growing the sport of Pickleball in the local community. We provide opportunities for players of all skill levels to come together and play Pickleball, as well as offering social events, tournaments, and clinics to help players to improve their skills. Our club also works to create a fun and inclusive atmosphere where members can connect with fellow Pickleball enthusiasts and enjoy the game together. Whether you are new to the sport or a seasoned player, the Redlands Pickleball Club welcomes all to join in the fun and excitement of Pickleball.
Where Are We Located?
The club is located on the beautiful bayside situated East of Brisbane and is part of the Redland City local government area. Redlands Coast is known for its natural beauty, offering picturesque views of Moreton Bay and nearby islands.
We are very fortunate to have three playing facilities in the Redlands - Ormiston State School, Wellington Point Community Tennis Courts and PCYC Capalaba.

Early 2019
Ron & Louise played Pickleball for the first time in friends' garage at Gold Coast, before trying at the Coorparoo Indoor Sports Centre
Mid 2019
Ron and Louise cross paths with Jan Doran who played pickleball at Chandler Sporting Complex. This small group played a game at Thorneside Tennis Courts with borrowed equipment from Brisbane Pickleball Club. Passers by were intrigued and approached asking what they were playing, introducing more to this game they loved!
Late 2019
Redlands group grew to about 30 players and equipment loan fully paid off.
Early 2020
Redlands Pickleball Club Inc. (RPC) was officially formed.
Mid 2020
Negotations took place with Ormiston State School with a weekly Wednesday session of four (4) inside courts in Ormiston School Hall. The undercover area became available for Sunday sessions so permanent lines for four (4) outside pickleball courts together with several handball courts for the school children.
Late 2020
Ormiston State School added LED lighting to the outside courts thanks to grant assistance from Redlands City Council. News of Pickleball spread like wildfire and growth was unprecedented.
2021
Covid struck, lockdowns and restrictions ensued though the Club continued learning to play with the new Health & Safety protocols in place. Ormiston State School added permanent lines to indoor courts. Membership was growing above 150, we had now seven (7) all weather courts and additional Monday weekly session was added.
Early 2022
The three (3) sessions at Ormiston State School were now well supported and demand was exceeding current supply.
Early 2022
Club continues lobbying for permanent playing facilities with Redland City Council. September 2022 negotiations were successful with Council to add pickleball court lines to an under used tennis courts at Wellington Point.
Early 2023
Newly marked pickleball courts at Wellington Point Community Tennis Courts have now become the second home of Redlands Pickleball Club.
Late 2023
Club membership continues to grow, now with 250 members and more than 40 casual players! Two sessions, on Fridays = morning and evening pickleball sessions were added to the playing schedule at Wellington Point, with additional sessions coming in 2024.
